Nerf Positions

Just like many other games, Nerf has many positions.  This is my advice on playing different positions.

Trooper- These are the bread-and-butter soldiers.  Troopers are responsible for working together as a unit to destroy the enemy.  Qualities needed in good troopers are good communication skills, a well rounded list of combat abilities, and teamwork.  A trooper will find himself in many different situations.  Therefore, his weapon needs to be versatile, have decent range and RoF, and have a quick reload time.  I would recommend the SM 1500, BF, SM3000, AT2000, AT3000, and AT4000.

Raider- Raiders are very fast shock troopers who are responsible for hit and run attacks and flanking the enemy.  Players who want to be raiders need to be very fast runners, have fast reflexes, and be good at dodging.  A raider's equipment should include an automatic and a good sidearm.

Heavy Weapons Guy (HW)- HW Guys are the heavy artillery of the Nerf world.  They need to be able to pack a tremendous amount of firepower.  They should carry several automatics, a dependable side-arm, and extra ammo.  Another player should stick with a HW Guy so that he isn't rushed when he is trying to reload.

Sharpshooters- Sharpshooters are not to be confused with Snipers.  Snipers lay in wait for their prey.  Sharpshooters hunt for them.  They are basically troopers except they need to be proficient at long-range combat.  They should carry an accurate weapon such as the BBB, Xbow, or an SM5000.  Their side-arm should have a good rate of fire so that they have a chance for survival if they are rushed by multiple enemies.  Good side-arms include the SM250/350, SF, and LnL.

Mercenaries (Mercs)- Mercs are the lone wolves of the Nerf army.  Although they are part of a team none of their team mates should know where they are or what they are doing.  This gives your team the advantage of having an unpredictable player who will wreak havoc on your enemy.  Mercenaries should be extremely versatile and comfortable on their own for they are taking on the part of an entire team.  They should be very sneaky, because they are almost always outnumbered greatly and they cannot call for support.  A mercenary's equipment depends on his personal style.  I believe that a mercenary should be comfortable with his weapon above all else.  I would suggest an automatic, because they can take down entire crowds.  Alternately, an SM1500, AT2000, or a BF can be used because they have good reload times and a decent RoF.

Squad Leader- We all know that the trooper is the backbone of the Nerf army.  You probably also know that troopers are meant to work together as a team.  In order for that to happen a leader is needed.  That is the job of the Squad Leader.  The Squad Leader should lead a group of about 5 men.  These 5 men should obey the Squad Leader faithfully.  It is also helpful if the Squad Leader knows these troopers personally although it is not necessary.  To further improve cooperation the Squad Leaders should be elected by the troopers themselves.  This will give the squad of troopers a brain.

However, not anybody can be a Squad Leader.  A Squad Leader must have good coordination and communication skills.  He must be able to observe all aspects of the combat; the movements of the enemy, the strengths and weaknesses of his own soldiers, enemy positions, etc.  Needless to say he must be able to order troopers to form certain formations that would serve the team best.  They must be able to order troopers to provide cover fire in certain directions, enter rooms in SWAT team fashion, etc.  Squad Leaders must be eligible to perform the important task.

Guerilla Warfare Specialist-

Heres the GWS proper Guerilla Strike Article

So, your trying to be a Guerilla Warfare Specialist?? Heres a few tips to keep you ALIVE when you ambush a group of enemies.

1. Choose a good hiding spot where you can easily watch for enemies but its hard for them to see you. It should also be pretty close to main avenues so you don't have to run a football field before attacking the enemy group.

2. When you see a group coming your way, heres a no-brainer: DON'T MOVE. The human eye is attracted to movement and your chances of being owned increase by 500%. After following that rule count how many are in the group. Remember that your one person. If there are more than 4 people in the group, don't try it unless you have a death wish. Just sit tight and wait for them to pass by a little bit, Its a lot easier to attack from the back than the front.

3. Arm your weapons, on your arms! Don't want to attack with only one blade!

4. Run as fast as you can, keeping noise an issue towards the group. If they spot you too soon then please see instructions at the bottom of this article.

5. Once you get pretty close to the group break into an all out sprint, they shouldn't have time to stop you now.

6. When you get to the group they should've just noticed your presence. Start slashing through the group of enemies ASAP! Bring them all to the ground with your blades. They won't last long.

7. Once your slaughtering is done, run as fast as you can to some cover. Often times some enemies will come to investigate what happened, if they are in a big group and see you, you=screwed.

8. ***If you've been spotted too soon follow these instructions: Run like hell, don't stop until they stop chasing you, or you find your team***

Thanks for your time, Movielife
