Setting Up Your Procedure

A good procedure is necessary for an accurate experiment.  Learn how to write one!

The procedure is the heart of your experiment.  It needs to have as few variables in it as possible other than the factors you are trying to compare (different darts, guns, amount of pumps, etc.) .  Try to fire at the same position with the angle of the gun being equal for every shot you compare.  You can try building a stand to hold your gun in place to maximize the experiment's accuracy.  Then you need to determine how many trials you want to do.  The more trials you do the more credible you will be, but it will be more time consuming and perhaps more costly.  Finally, you need to write up a clear and concise report of the procedure you did.  Try to number your steps.
