Basics to a Lab Report

Lab reports are for sharing the results and procedure of your experiment.  A good lab report is essential to spreading information on your findings.

Now say you want to write a lab report to share data with your Nerf friends.  You need to start off with a purpose.  The purpose tells your fellow Nerfers what the heck you are talking about.  It includes well...the purpose of the experiment.  Then you need to set up your procedure.

Afterwards, you need to write up a clear and concise report of the procedure you did.  Try to number your steps.  This makes the procedure easier to follow.

When you do you results present them in a graph, table, and written paragraph form.  This will allow people to see the results from as many different perspectives as possible.  Do not make assumptions or conclusions in your results.  That's for the next part.

The next part is the conclusion.  In the conclusion draw conclusions explaining what happened and summarize your results.

Finally, add some final comments and notes.

Ta-Da! You're done!  Now pat yourself on the back.
